how about attracting zombies by dragging / placing a carcass (animal or player) to an area, this will play the factor of do you kill the animal for your hunger needs or do you give it to the zombies to buy yourself some time to scavenge a building, obviously if you do leave a carcass out it isn't going to attract a horde but also it will take some time for them to clear the building to make their way to the carcass. Also depending on how fresh the carcass is the more attention from the zombies? (still warm / very fresh = attract zombies to the point where when eating they are more oblivious to your presence, but the older the carcass / cold / not fresh = zombies still attracted to the meat but are more aware of their surroundings because they are on the hunt for fresh meat)

Well if they chase live animals then they should eat them if they catch them. Good idea to trap them or use them against other people by covering their base in guts.

yeah if you put a carcass outside someones house or vehicle, come night time when the zombies are roaming it gets their attention, they then make their way over to eat but see/ hear a player spending a night in and making them attack their base...

this could be classed as bandit-ism but it will make people more vigilant to check the perimeters of their base before night falls. if they find a carcass then they can bury it to mask its smell from the zombies.

if the bandit decides they want to place the carcass after night fall when the other player has done their perimeter check then that is a big risk to the bandit as they are out in the open at night!

Could be re-made after use with old clothes, dry grass and the meat you don't want.

yes all of this could be a nice little (sanity dropping) mechanic could even use it to lure zeds into traps and away from your home or onto someones lawn really quite a few applications in various scenarios
