Idea: A large container to capture wild animals or zombies that are lured in by meat and to be used as a form of defense. Can be transported by trailer. There are two types, basic wooden and metal, the wooden cage is simple and uses no power tools, but requires a lot of wood and screws and isn't as durable as the metal cage, when a zombie is in a wooden cage, if it's aggravated much it may knock over and break open the cage. The metal cage uses less resources but requires a Welding Torch that needs a propane tank and is more durable then the wooden cage. On top of these you can place a tarpaulin, an extra resource, by removing the sense of sight from whatever you have trapped they are less likely to become agroed and are easier to handle.

Basic Wooden Cage
Items Needed:
100 planks, 8 fence posts, rope, wire coat hanger, 100 screws, 2 hinges, 2 springs.

Description:
Assemble 4 fence posts in a square on the ground, screw on several planks of wood to form the floor and flip to the correct way. Place the remaining fence posts upright in the corners and secure them with screws, now build up 3 walls of the cage with the planks of wood adding extra struts across the walls to reinforce them. Build a roof on top, now construct the door separately and attach using the hinges. Make the release mechanism from the wire coat hanger and some rope and add the springs to the door so it becomes spring loaded once the mechanism is released.

Tools Needed:
Screwdriver

Advanced Metal Cage
Items Needed: 20 large metal pipes, 6 pieces of chain linked fence, a length of chain, a lever, 2 springs, 2 hinges, 10 nuts and bolts.

Description:
Make a floor from the fence and assemble the 3 walls with the fence and metal pipes by welding them together, weld on a roof using the pipes and fence and with the remainder make a door, attach with the hinges, nuts and bolts and springs using the lever to lock it and attach the chain to the lever to release it.

Tools Needed:
Welding Torch
Allen Key

Sadly I do not have the talents to create a beautiful work of art depicting these in use.

Cheers,
Jack

Could you post an example what this would be used for?

if you've seen The Walking Dead, then you can probably see where it could be used offensively as well

Yeah, I remember The Walking Dead :)

Example,
You've got a problem with some nosy neighbors rather then putting a bullet in their head you could use these cages to scare them away, imagine walking into someones base uninvited, little do you know you're being watched and when you turn a corner a cage springs open and a mountain lion is on top of you clawing you to death.
The alternative offensive solution as Handicap has mentioned would be drop off some zombies at someones base, draw them out, distract them whilst you sneak in and steal some stuff.
Expanding on the cage idea you could transform the entire trailer into a cage and fill it with zombies to drop off on someones doorstep.
Using the cage to bait wild animals to eat, like spending food to get more food wouldn't be a bad idea, though I don't know what bear steaks taste like.
