Hi all I was wondering if there would be any natural disasters in the game? Like tornados, flooding etc. I think that it would add more depth into the game given the fact that you could potentially have your stuff destroyed. Just a random thought since I haven't seen anything about this yet.

I think I'd be more for seasons that are balanced first before natural disasters.

Different types of weather would be an interesting challenge for us players.

The sun:
Cause Heatstroke. (Hyperthermia)
Force you to drink more water.
Lose stamina faster.

Rain:
Put out fires. (obviously)
Make your character uncomfortable (causing less stamina).
Cause your vehicle to skid on the road.
Risks you character dying of hypothermia .

Lightning:
Cause a power cut.
Cause trees to fall down in the road.
Cause a zombie horde ( optional xD ).

Snow:
Make driving a vehicle somewhat impossible.
Cause extreme hypothermia
Number of animals in the wild decrease (Hunting will be harder)

Winds:
Knock over wooden traps
Blow down trees
Cause bullet sway

Thanks for reading a few of my ideas, you might think some are over the top but if you think weather climate effecting your gameplay is a good idea then thumbs up this post.

I know its likely that some of the things in here are already in the game, but for the ones that aren't, please consider!

- It's based in Canada, it's not THAT hot.
- Zed horde from lightning strike, not very realistic imo.
- Again, based in Canada, they know what snow is, and are used to it. Snow tires and chains.
- Bullet sway impacted by wind, not very realistic except for very long distances. Only weapon that might be affected by this in game is the hunting rifles.

Other than that I liked it :)

Yeah i did think some are a bit unrealistic so I put "Yes, but only some are good ideas" as an option.
I agree with you :)

I know its in Canada but lightning is possible any ware on earth
This is why i put "Yes, but only some are good ideas" as an option because i know some of the ideas are somewhat unrealistic.

Seasonal weather is something that has been showcased to be in game for quite some time... I don't think anyone really knows the full extent of how the weather will affect the environment, zombies, and player yet, but I am sure there will be an impact on many things. Just the simple fact (that is confirmed) to grow crop during the growing season and harvest before winter is bother realistic and an awesome dynamic you don't see in many games at all.

That would definitely add a lot to the game, especially with the more extreme weather! For example, you want to go out hunting but have to reconsider after a dense early-morning fog rolls in...or maybe you're out on a loot run and have to hunker down when a thunderstorm rips through the town!

If executed properly, this could be a very cool aspect of STN.

I think that being in the rain and getting wet and cold should increase the chance of getting sick, catching a cold, etc.
