is there going to be any systems in regards to guns and their usage to everyone, i always thought that not everyone in the end of days situation would be a cop or other experienced in handling, assembly or use of a firearm, me, iam sure i could pull the trigger just fine but if it were to jam up from sitting outside in the elements id know nothing about cleaning or disassembly ect, are you going any kind of route there or do you feel thats too much realism? and or will there be any kind of weapon modding or gun parts and repair? lookin forward to this for a long time, keep it up guys..:);)
A profession/skill tree system would solve that real quick.

I like the idea but how could we pull something like that? Could be based on leveling system, shoot more = get better type of thing maybe?
Maybe gun manuals as loot? Each manual will enable to repair a certain model. All players could repair simpler weapons such as revolvers?

Request a refund from Humble bud. Please also if you can start a thread if you'd still like to discuss this further. I'm trying to keep this one on track.

Can't wait till we have some breathing room and can work on neat little features like this. Even if we didn't take it the full route where a player can't use/do something until he found the skill book. Even in a basic state where a player would just get faster/better at something like a buff. I think it would add a ton of depth to the game.

Dude we heard you. Quit complaining it's not going to change anything. You will be able to play when they are ready. If you don't want to wait ask for a refund.

Breath, Stamina, Health. Leveling system's can get out of control real quick, but i have tried in a few engines to create a simple leveling system, and realistic.

Breath, the more you shoot, the more you practice the better your character becomes at holding the weapon while breathing etc.

Stamina, the more you run and use melee or resourse tools the better your stamina becomes, lasting longer and maybe giving you boosted effects.

Health, simple you guys have a great food system with caliores implement a leveling system which basically means the more you eat more health points you gain etc.

But ofc there has to be balancing effects for each of these 3. I just think a simple realistic character leveling system would be great, and your game really fits in nice bc of intense realism. Food for thought xD

I would really love to see a skill tree!! this could be nice and give a chance to noob.. As you level up you can kill zombie faster or build other gun etc.. Because, like every shooting game.. They will be some Overpower Killer like in BF1 XD so to put a skill tree or something similar can give him a bit of challenge.

its tough to think of a good overall system, routes like planet zomboid for example have you picking classes basicly which doesnt sound right for this kind of game, plus you guys are going a route it seems most like dayz ect are either too lazy or scared to go, less about the deathmatch pvp and more about feeling like your surviving in a harsh world needing people moreso than needing to shoot everyone you see, so for my question about guns i just found it funny how anyone could pick up a mosin and know how to load, repair(not that repairing is in those games)maintain and clean, fix cars and build bases ala miscreated, STN seems to be so deep already i just wondered if there was any plan for a system where my survivor would need to not shoot that guy looting the gas station, that guy might be able to help me fix this car i have parts for or i might be able to repair his guns, pvp is needed for the tension and conflict but in a realistic situation you would be less likely to just murder ever single person you see, thats one thing i liked about talking to you during one stress test was the systems you were thinking of as far as effects of kosing all the time to the mind and maybe your ability to even shoot straight, cause and effect. anyway sorry for the rambling, not looking to change anything as i love all the content currently shown. just questions :D

Love these ideas, I have played 7D2D but not really in some time. I downloaded it the other night but didn't even join a server, I have a serious case of ADD with gaming atm haha. I think we find if we don't play simple casual games we all just start thinking about STN right away and can't enjoy ourselves. I will check the tree system out though at some point :)

Another game with a special sort of skill system is life is feudal. It's a mixture out of different skill trees and and a cap of skillpoints, so you need to decide, which character style you want to play. There are many many many skills but you're only able to specialise two or three branches. To master every branch you will need thousands of skillpoints but you only have something about 500. This forces players to team up and try to help each other. The skill trees are to stiff and sometimes a bit confusing but the main system is great in my opinion. Something in this direction would be nice either. Not as hardcore as LiF forces players to work together, you should be able to play the lone wolf style. But maybe there would be a chance that not kill on sight gives you an advantage. In addition to this skillsystem, the zomboid skill trees, some recipes and maybe the emotional system of zomboid...

Doesn't Farcry 3 have something like this? Its not a skilltree or something like that, the character just kind of... "get used" to the guns and how to work them.. Sure there isn't any gun cleaning and such tho...

The biggest problem will be, to balance the difference between newbies and high skilled characters. If you're a high geared and skilled character, maybe in a clan... and you discover a new started fortification... what would prevent you to break inside this safehouse, fortified with a few planks, nails and a weak lock?

yeah sadly sometimes its the players and not just systems that turn these well thought games into a quick gear up and camp and kill fest, it seems as if this one is trying some new systems to help curb that playstyle, in realistic situations and i know games need to not be overly realistic, still people wouldnt run around breaking into others places and killing/looting. many would but more than not people would really not do that, easy in movies but to see what real violence looks like and feels like to do to another human, even an enemy must mess with those not so crazy in the head. in a game sense a sanity system with other ideas might curb this way of playing and would def be a first in this genre......that i know of. i like immersion so i dont mind a strong focus on realism, but iam an older gamer too. I will say i like how involved this developer is with the community and responding and including of ideas and or thoughts. Its rare to this degree.
