Another one of my many ideas. I feel like I'm filling up these threads, lmao. But yes, playing cards could be a really cool in-game mini game. Something like Gwent from the Witcher series. It could be regular card games like blackjack, BS, poker, etc. Or there could be like a game made up by the community. Something everyone from STN could play and know the rules. It could be used to boost mental health, as well as something to do with your pals during the night. And if this got implemented it could be a fun way to bet. Like you put up two cans of beans and someone else puts up a rifle or something. They loose, you get the rifle and the beans back.

I wouldn't worry about filling up the forums. As long as you're posting in the correct area, then you're contributing to the community. I'm sure you'll receive a polite message from our fantastic mods or the team if you're 'pushing it' a bit!
So back to cards ...
I'm not sure if multiple player interaction would be easy to bring to the game. But the impact on a single players mental health from finding a pack of cards and being able to play a game of patience / solitaire sounds like a very interesting game mechanic.

I'll do my best to keep posting in the correct areas, hah. Sometimes it's hard to know what goes where- I wasn't sure if this should've gone in gameplay or items. Guess I made the right choice! And yeah, it would be cool to do that. Just pass the night like that. And if there was a multiplayer interaction, they could add a casino in or something, much later down the road. It'd be interesting for survivors to set up shop there, run a casino of sorts.

@Stay Alive , don't worry about getting the wrong forum, as I previously noted, we have an excellent team of mods ... they'll move stuff to the right place and advise you on content if the need arises.
I'm sure everyone is sick and tired of me saying this, but I worked for a software house for many years. Based on that, I'm not sure how possible it would be to bring gambling in to the game. I'm not even sure it's a concept the Dev.s would want to promote. It might introduce the idea of trading as a software integrated mechanic. To me, that sounds like a 'shed load' of extra work.
Just one moment while I get off my high horse ...
But a pack of cards? Brilliant idea! Trading in general, well I don't know if that will ever be official in the game. Perhaps you could have two or more players who had each found a card deck agreeing a trade based on the turn of an individual card from their own decks? Not something based on the game, but on individual agreement?

Awesome. Glad to be part of a community with such understanding people! And actually, that's really cool that you worked there. It means you definitely have some experience, and you know what you're talking about a lot more than I do. And that would work rally well! It would be a lot simpler, and integrate an honor system into the game. But what do you mean the turn of an individual card? Like if they say "I'm going to have an Ace in this deck." And if they don't they give the other players their items?

What? No. We can't stop here. This is bat country.
The idea is only mentioned in here, and another discussion somewhere about "collectables" and a deck of cards was one of them but no single thread, so bravo.. it gets harder by the day to think of new things for here.

But it's a cool idea for a mini-game between players, maybe even for rewards and such... anything that adds some RP elements or to maintain sanity is a good thing imo.

I dislike the idea of mini-games. To me, it's too much extra programing and annoys people. That's just my own opinion.
But finding and being able to use a deck or cards?
Might you get a mental health boost from being able to play a solo game? Could you even perhaps use then as part of PvP impromptu trading? The honour system @Stay Alive mentioned? No proper game mechanic, you'd just have to trust each other ...
We're 'on fire' with the ideas here!
