I like in the trailer how the wheelbarow could be used to transport things. What if you cant find one? just go to your nearest supermarket and get a shopping cart.

A similar item that would work for instance would be a trolley or a skateboard. Skateboards are great for putting heavy items on and then just pushing them.

These are just two of the ideas of many that I have.

I could get behind this if there were limitations like not being able to take the cart or skateboard off the road/sidewalk.

(I already posted this thread in the backer section, but i thought i would not hurt to put it in the public section too.)

I recently read the book "The Road" from Cormac McCarthy, which takes place in a postapocalyptic world (no Zeds though)
It's a great book. I liked it very much.

So in that book they have a shopping trolley to transport all their stuff, so i thought it is a fantastic idea for a silent "no fuel using" version of transporting more stuff than you could carry by yourself.
Additionally it could work as a support if your leg is broken or hurt.
Or used as a vehicle downhill.
These carts are rarely be found in bigger cities (supermarkets ofc). They can be damaged or pristine if you're a lucky mothertrucker. You can repair it with spareparts and some tools and even modify it if you want.
The cart would fall apart over time and would need repairs every now and then.
You can scrap other carts for repair parts.

Recipes:

Pristine cart:

Items you need: damaged cart, cart wheels, scrap metal, ...
Tools you need: Screwdriver (Sonic or normal), pliers

Now to the modding part:

Noise:
A normal cart sqeaks. Find oil.

"Reinforce":
The wheels break from time to time. Increasse durability through covering up.
Find a broom. Saw off the brush. Install 2 of the brushes in front of the front wheels.
The tool rod that is left can be used otherwise creating tools or as spare part for damaged ones.
If you dont find a broom, you can use highgrass with strings and scissors.

Space:
A normal cart is good. A cart with more space is better.
Find coat pegs. Use string to install them on the sides.
They can hold clothes(who would have guessed) but also backpacks etc.

Vision:
The night is dark. The night is deadly. Get some light.
Install a flashlight using string to the front of the cart.

Cautiousness:
Would be intresting to have an eye on your backhead.
Find a mirror.(From motorbike,car etc)
Install it onto the side with some scrap and tools.

Another small idea:

Another aspect that is shown in the book is the impotance of shoes. You walk a lot. Offroad. Shoes get outworn fast. If you dont have any shoes and cant find some. You can make some.

Items needed: Plastic sheet, clothesor any type of fabric, string
Tools needed: Scissors

They wouldnt be as great as shoes but hey your feet dont hurt anymore.

I'm open for criticism and ideas. Feel free to post them.
And to those that are not afraid of reading an actual book and love postapocalyptic stories. Read the book. It's good for you. I think they are producing a movie about it currently. Looking forward to that.

Sorry for typos, I'm not a native speaker.
Keep carrying the fire.

Thanks for reading, Enehaar. :)
