I know this idea was suggested on the Dam thread but nothing more was discussed.

The idea is that a few remote houses/cabins have a stream a few hundred yards away from it. you go there for fresh water and you see a small building with an old wooden water wheel. You notice it is seized and not spinning. You remember you grabbed some gear oil from the hardware store to use when sharpening your knife with a stone. You take a bit of oil put it on the metal shims and force it to spin breaking the rust off. You now have got yourself a power station for the cabin in the woods. This can be a maybe 2 or 3 spot on the map type of thing and can provide power for all hours of the day.

Lighting and maybe a mini fridge should be all that's powered as most remote cabins have propane stoves for cooking or they just use the top of the pot belly stove.

Nothing OP but just a different environment for you to survive in.

This is all I found on the discussion:

2) Water Power
2) water power by creation of a water wheel. The water version would of course need to be near a river and not a still lake/pond/the sea as flowing water would be required to make the water wheel turn.
